Dumpster rules and unaccepted items for residential and commercial

The delivery location must be safe and accessible by our large and heavy trucks. The driver has the final say on whether the requested location is appropriate for them to complete their job. If you know where you want your dumpster to go, such as in your driveway or at a job site, explain the location to the dumpster rental providers you speak to and confirm your placement is a viable option. A flat, hard surface is the ideal location for a dumpster.

Please note that our trucks are rear load and must have space to back up to the dumpster at its location.

To avoid extra charges, do not place any of the below unaccepted items inside dumpsters:

  • Tires (all sizes)
  • Ammunition
  • Appliances
  • Asbestos
  • Ashes, hot or cold
  • Automobile batteries
  • Compact fluorescent bulbs and tubes (CFL)
  • Dead animals
  • Large amounts of dirt, rocks or concrete
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Liquid waste, such as paint
  • Medical waste
  • Motor oil
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Sharps (needles or syringes)

Additional charges

To avoid additional charges, please stay within the weight allowance based on dumpster size. Additional charges will be assessed for return trips due to an overloaded dumpster, blocked dumpster or dumpster containing unacceptable materials. Fuel charges and travel time may apply depending on location.

The material must be level at the top of the container. Nothing may be sticking out of the top, or additional charges will apply if items are not placed safely within the container. Any unaccepted items placed within dumpsters will also be subject to additional fees.
